Welcome to Seldovia.com, a community website for the town of Seldovia, Alaska, operated by Seldovia Property (Jenny Chissus, Broker/Owner). By using this site, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
About this site
Seldovia.com is a community guide with a local directory, events, photos, news, and real estate information. We aim to keep everything accurate and current, but we provide the site for general information and community connection.
Real estate information
Real estate services are provided by Seldovia Property, a licensed Alaska real estate brokerage (Alaska Real Estate License RECB16495; Alaska Business License 919542). Listing information is believed reliable but is not guaranteed. Alaska is a non-disclosure state, so sale prices are not published. Prices, availability, and details can change without notice, and nothing on the site is an offer or a promise of any particular property or price. All real estate is offered in compliance with Equal Housing Opportunity.
Directory and business listings you submit
- Only submit information you have the right to share, and keep it accurate.
- By submitting a listing, you give Seldovia.com permission to display it on the site.
- We review submissions before publishing and show only the fields you mark public.
- We may edit, decline, or remove any submission, for example if it is inaccurate, unlawful, or not a good fit for the community.
Photos you submit
Only upload photos you took or have permission to use. By uploading a photo, you confirm you have the right to share it and you give Seldovia.com permission to display it on the site and in related community features (see the monthly photo contest rules below).
Monthly photo contest
Seldovia.com runs a photo contest each month. The deadline, how to enter, and the prize are announced each month. These rules apply to every contest:
- Open to all ages and skill levels.
- Photos must be your own, taken in Seldovia, Alaska.
- Photos must be of that month in Seldovia, though they may be from a previous year.
- Please tell us where the photo was taken and the month and year it was taken.
- You may submit more than one entry.
- Minor touch-ups and editing are fine, but AI-generated photos will not be considered.
- Voting takes place on the Seldovia.com Facebook page for a few days after entries close, as announced each month. You may vote for your own photo once (not once from each of your Facebook pages or profiles), so please respect this request.
- Entries may be shown on Seldovia.com and its Facebook page, with credit to the photographer.
Acceptable use
Please do not use the site to post anything unlawful, harmful, misleading, or infringing, to send spam, or to interfere with how the site works for others.
Links and services from others
The site links to and displays content from other services, such as business websites, maps, weather and tide data, ferry schedules, the harbor webcam, community calendars, and property videos. We do not control these and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or availability.
Weather, tides, ferry, and webcam
Conditions, tide times, ferry schedules, and the webcam are provided by third parties and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Do not rely on them for navigation, safety, or travel decisions. Always confirm with the official source before you head out.
Our content
The text, design, and original photos on Seldovia.com belong to Seldovia.com or their respective owners. Please do not copy or reuse them without permission.
Community information and photos from public sources
To keep the community informed, some information and photos on Seldovia.com, such as events, notices, and business details, come from public websites and public social media posts. Photos are shared with the owner's permission and credited whenever possible. If you see your information or photo here and would like it credited differently, updated, or removed, email us at Info@Seldovia.com and we'll take care of it right away.
