A Successful Summer Lecture Series Comes to a Close

The second annual Summer Lecture Series co-sponsored by Seldovians for Science and the Seldovia Public Library has finished another successful season. We hope to continue to bring in scholars from a variety of disciplines to share their research and interests with us here in Seldovia.Last summer, we addressed the Big Bang, the age of the Earth, and Evolution. This summer we continued with the theme of directly addressing science denial.

YOUR Building …. Needs YOU!

Ukulele Club, Needlework Night, Internet Café, Tennis Lessons, Yoga, Youth Gaming . . . a lot has been happening these days at the “Old Club,” and this Fall, the Sea Otter Community Center (SOCC) is going to host a handful of Community Education classes, too.
If you’ve ever contemplated teaching a class in an informal setting, this is your opportunity. Share your hidden hobby, talent, or area of expertise with others and, if you like, perhaps make a few bucks in the process! Don’t want to teach, but interested in taking a course? Watch for a Community Education mailing due out in late September.
