Games Start Today at 11:30am
Basketball games are on today – starting at 11:30am! Lumen Christi made it in this morning on the Rainbow Connection, and with the help of MANY drivers, we were able to get the team in from Jakolof Bay in time to start the first game at 11:30am this morning, Lumen Christi vs. Nanwalek!
Seldovia Girls team will play Lumen Christi Girls around 12:30 or so, and the Seldovia Boys will be playing Lumen Christi following the girls game! Last night was a great game, with good food, lots of folks who battled the crazy deep snow to get there, and the Seldovia Boys team won the game against Nanwalek!
Stop by and support the OTTERS! See you there!
Ferry Cancelled Friday and Saturday, Game On Tonight at 6:00pm
by Jenny Chissus
Due to rough seas and bad weather, the Kachemak Voyager had to cancel the trips to Homer for our visiting Basketball players coming in from Lumen Christi and Wasilla Lake. Unfortunately, the Wasilla Lake team has headed back to Wasilla today, but the team from Lumen Christi are going to try to wait it out and hopefully make the trip across tomorrow to play against Seldovia and Nanwalek . Nanwalek is already here, as they flew in yesterday!
The game schedule has obviously changed. The only game that is currently planned is for tonight – Friday Night at 6pm. The Seldovia Boys team will play Nanwalek Boys. There is no Nanwalek girls team, so the Otter Gals will join the crowd in cheering for our Otter Guys!
Join us TONIGHT – FRIDAY at 6:00pm for a Great Basketball Game!
Seldovia Bay Ferry Makes Tournament Runs to Homer – UPDATE
by Jenny Chissus
UPDATE: Friday, February 7, 2014 at 9:57am – by Ian McGaughey
“Due to high seas and freezing spray, the ferry run this morning is on weather hold. The captain is monitoring conditions to see if they improve enough for a potential run later today.”
Thanks to the Seldovia Bay Ferry, there will be runs back and forth from Homer for folks wanting to participate in the games! I had a visit with Ian about the specifics, and wanted to make sure folks knew that there are special conditions to this sailing!
