Lost Truck in Seldovia
by Chris Brandon
UPDATE: Truck was found, wasn’t stolen, just misplaced! Thanks Chief Haller for letting us know that the mystery is solved!
My Toyota has gone missing there in Seldovia. It was last seen at the harbor masters parking lot in late June.
I’ve talked with Shad and he said that it wasn’t impounded. Anyhow, I’d appreciate the exposure….. I’m guessing someone ‘borrowed’ it but of all the acquaintances of mine there, they haven’t seen it or used it..
Thanks again, Chris Brandon
Please contact Shad (Police Chief 399-0671) if you have any information!

Seldovia Bay Ferry Continues Service Into October
by Ian McGaughey
The Seldovia Bay Ferry is continuing operations, providing round trips between Seldovia and Homer twice a day on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
“As long as there are passengers to support it and weather to accommodate the service, the Seldovia Bay Ferry will continue to run,” Seldovia Village Tribe President and CEO Crystal Collier said. “The loss of the Tustumena has had a significant impact on Seldovia. We’re pleased to offer this extended schedule as a service to our community.”
Operating Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the Seldovia Bay Ferry’s Kachemak Voyager departs Seldovia for the 45-minute trip at 9:00am and 4:30pm, and departs Homer (Ramp 7) at 11:00am and 6:30pm. Passengers are asked to arrive 30 minutes before departure, more if transporting freight.
Tickets can be purchased right on the vessel—reservations are not required. One-way tickets are $33 per person, plus taxes. For more information, please visitseldoviabayferry.com or call (907) 435-3299.
Kennicott Reschedules September and October Stops for Seldovia
by Jenny Chissus
I just received word from the Seldovia City office (thanks to Jen Giles) that the Kennicott is approximately 30 hours behind schedule due to high winds and hazardous seas out by Unalaska.
Please take note of the following changes to the upcoming arrival and departure times for Seldovia.
The scheduled sailing for Saturday, September 28th has been cancelled and rescheduled for Monday, September 30th arriving at 12:45 AM and departing at 2:00 AM.
The scheduled sailing for Saturday, October 5th has also been cancelled and rescheduled for Monday, October 7th arriving at 1:30 PM and departing at 2:45 PM.
The hope is that the Kennicott will be back on her regular schedule by the Saturday, October 12th sailing. Please take note, and be sure to contact the city office or AMHS main office to confirm your sailing date and reservations. Obviously, we will be hoping to see the Tusty back in Seldovia – maybe by the end of October?
