Residents in Nanwalek, Port Graham and a small area in Seldovia will experience a short power outage in the morning and again in the afternoon on Tuesday, August 6th.

The outages are necessary so that HEA crews can repair power lines between Seldovia and Port Graham that were damaged last winter.

Weather permitting, the morning outage on August 6th will occur at approximately 10 am and the afternoon outage will occur at approximately 3 pm.

The outages will last about 20 minutes.

The power interruptions will affect all HEA members in Port Graham and Nanwalek.

In Seldovia, the area that will see the power interruptions is along Willard’s Way, Eider Street, C Street, B Street, A Street and Backers Island Lane.

AS ALWAYS, PLEASE TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT SENSITIVE ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT AND REMEMBER TO STAY AWAY FROM ANY DOWNED POWER LINE.

THE LINES ARE VERY DANGEROUS AND CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

Working with Nature to Restore Your Health!

by  SVT Health and Wellness

Hillery Lobby SquareSVT Health & Wellness is pleased to announce regular availability of a naturopathic doctor in Seldovia. Hillery Daily, ND is now accepting new patients in Seldovia for naturopathic medicine, as well as acupuncture. Dr. Daily believes in treating the whole person, rather than treating symptoms alone. “I became interested in naturopathic medicine from a passion for whole foods and nutrition,” she said. “I have continued to find natural/alternative medicine an effective approach for both acute and chronic illness as well as disease prevention.”

Originally from Montana, Dr. Daily practices naturopathic medicine focusing on holistic, proactive prevention and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment. “The opportunity to work with an integrated healthcare team focused on whole-patient wellness is what brought me to SVT Health & Wellness.”

Naturopathic medicine is a distinct method of primary health care.  It is considered an art, science and philosophy approach to diagnosis, treatment and prevention of illness.  Naturopathic physicians seek to restore and maintain optimum health in their patients by emphasizing nature’s inherent self-healing process. This is accomplished through education and the rational use of natural therapeutics.
