Poem “I’m Free” – In Memory of Gerry Hurley, My Sweetheart and Soulmate of 39 Years
Sponsored post by Shirley Hurley
Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free, Im following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call, I turned my back and left earth’s all.
I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way, I have found peace at close of day.
If my parting leaves a void, Please fill it with remembered joys,
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss. Oh yes, these things you now may miss.
But be not burdened in your hour of sorrow, You have the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life was full, I savored much; good times, good friends, my loved one’s touch.
Perhaps some think my time too brief, Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts to God in praise and thanks,
He wanted me now, He has set me free.

I lost my mother 7-26-13. It is coming up soon on her 1 year anniversary. I miss her so terribly. I am afraid I will never get over the loss. You lost your soulmate. It made me cry for you. I cannot imagine the pain and how do you make it day to day? Any advice would be appreciated.
