Due to Weather – Fireworks Show Rescheduled to January 1 at 8pm
by Jenny Chissus
Tonight, New Years Eve fireworks show started with hope in spite of the pounding rain and constant winds. Unfortunately, after only a few fireworks went off, it became quickly apparent that the pyrotechnicians were having trouble with the weather and getting the fireworks to take flight. After about 10 minutes, the team decided to call it quits.
I spoke with Alvin Swick, who wanted to let everyone know that he has all the fireworks at home and they are working on drying them out. It appears that the actual fireworks are all OK, but the fuses are too wet to maintain a light. Alvin is hopeful to have them all dry enough to set off by tomorrow.
Weather permitting, We will have our NEW YEAR’s DAY
Fireworks display tomorrow night!
January 1, 2013 at 8:00pm at the airport.
I will post any further updates as I receive them – hopefully, the weather will cooperate and we will all celebrate together tomorrow night!
