From the Desk of Paul Chissus

We are excited that we have a lot more space, inside as well as outside! Now that we are located by the school and playground, we have many kids enjoying the outdoor activities on a daily basis.  This is great, and we will see much more of bike riding, softball, frisbee games as well as basketball tournaments as the weather gets warm and school gets out!   We will be organizing many events, with club staff supervision, but often kids are outdoors unsupervised!   We have been, and will continue to talk with kids about outdoor safety, and being courteous and kind to one another while outside and not under adult supervision.  Unfortunately, we are not funded to have someone on "recess duty" for the entire open club hours.   Therefore, we would ask that you make arrangements with your own children about what you expect from them while outside our facility when adults are not present.  For example, can they run down the Otterbahn Trail?  Climb the hill on the playfield?  Participate in a competition with their friends to jump off the swings from the highest point?  You get the idea?  Please be aware that when your child is at the club, we are not responsible for their behavior when outdoors, unless we are staffing an event.  The club has an open door policy which allows kids to come and go as they wish.   The B&G Club is responsible for the safety of your children only during club sponsored and supervised activities. If any parents want to volunteer to offer outdoor supervised time, we would welcome that with open arms!   Most often, the kids want to go out when THEY want to go, not when WE want them to go!   If you have any concerns, comments or questions, please feel free to come and talk to us, email or call.  We are here for you!

Thank you for your attention to this very important issue.
